AtRIS is a GEANT4 based toolkit that simulates the propagation of energetic particles through planetary atmospheres [1]. In this case, we used AtRIS to investigate the flux of SCRs in the atmosphere of the Earth. To this end, we rely on the NRLMSIS 2.1 model of the atmosphere [2]. \r
