NO₂ absorption cross sections at different temperatures and pressures

This dataset contains laboratory absorption cross sections of nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) measured over the visible and near-infrared spectral regions at different temperatures and pressures.

The dataset includes several series of measurements:

Files_96

Spectral resolution: 2 cm⁻¹
Temperature: 294 K
Path length: 5 cm
Pressure: 7–50 Torr, including measurements with 1 atm O₂
Spectral range: 10000–42000 cm⁻¹ (approximately 240–1000 nm)

Files_97

Spectral resolution: 2 cm⁻¹
Temperatures: 220 and 294 K
Path lengths: 20 and 60 m
Pressure: 0.007–2 Torr
Spectral range: 10000–42000 cm⁻¹ (approximately 240–1000 nm)

IR and VIS files

Spectral resolution: 0.05 cm⁻¹ in the infrared and 0.1 cm⁻¹ in the visible
Temperatures: 220, 240 and 294 K
Path length: 60 m
Pressure: specified in the individual file descriptions
Spectral ranges: 10800–15100 cm⁻¹ (IR) and 13800–26000 cm⁻¹ (VIS)
Instrument: Bruker 120M high-resolution Fourier transform spectrometer

General comments

  • Absorption cross sections are provided in cm² molecule⁻¹. Missing values are indicated by -999.
  • Wavenumbers originally measured in air were converted to vacuum wavenumbers using Edlén's formula for 15 °C and 101325 Pa.
  • All data are provided as space-delimited ASCII files with .dat or .asc extensions.
  • The file names use the following identifiers: R indicates measurements at room temperature, C measurements at 220 K, and P files containing pressure-dependent data.
