Space Environment Information System IV (2006-2014)

The Space Environment Information System (SPENVIS) is system developed for ESA since 1996 by successive projects led by the Royal Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy (BIRA-IASB). The system exposed a web-based interface for assessing the space environment and its effects on spacecraft systems and crews. It is used by an international user community for various purposes (e.g. mission analysis and planning, educational support, and running models for scientific applications), and includes extensive background information on the space environment and the environment models. This record mainly collects work results generated during the period 2006-2014 in the frame of ESA contract no 19786/05/NL/GLC/jk, titled "Development of a 3-D Analysis Tool for the Space Environment Information System (SPENVIS)" but referred as SPENVIS-4.
