(O)VOC concentration and flux measurements above a mixed forest at the Vielsalm ICOS ecosystem station (Belgium)

This dataset contains half-hourly averaged volatile organic compound concentrations and fluxes obtained above the canopy of a mixed forest from a flux tower at 52 m a.g.l. at the Vielsalm ICOS ecosystem site in Belgium, from July to October 2009 and from March to October 2010. The concentration data were obtained with a hs-PTR-Quad-MS instrument (Ionicon Analytik GmbH, Austria) and micrometeorological flux data were obtained with the disjunct eddy covariance by mass scanning method.

Methodological aspects and data analysis have been described in Laffineur Q. et al., “Isoprene and monoterpene emissions from a mixed temperate forest”, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.atmosenv.2011.02.054, 2011, Laffineur, Q. et al., “Abiotic and biotic control of methanol exchanges in a temperate mixed forest”, https://doi.org/10.5194/acp-12-577-2012, 2012, and Laffineur Q. et al., “Impact of diffuse light on isoprene and monoterpene emissions from a mixed temperate forest”, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.atmosenv.2013.04.025, 2013.

The dataset is provided as a two csv files (one per year) with sizes of 2.514 KB (2009) and 4.486 KB (2010) and a complete list of all variables is given in the accompanying pdf file "Dataset_Vielsalm_2009_2010_variables".

All ancillary data measured at the site are publicly available and can be obtained from ICOS Fluxnet Archive Product, Vielsalm. Detailed site description and characterization can be found on ICOS Vielsalm station.
