TROPOMI bromine monoxide total columns at S5P-PAL

Bromine monoxide (BrO) total vertical columns retrieved from measurements by the S5p/TROPOMI instrument.

The S5P-PAL data portal provides a daily updated dataset of L2 bromine monoxide vertical columns obtained from S5p/TROPOMI. The underlying algorithm is based on a classical DOAS scheme for the derivation of slant column data and applies a geometric air mass factor for the derivation of the vertical column.

The first version of the algorithm was developed as a demonstration algorithm in the framework of the ESA/S&T S5P-PAL project, to test the feasibility of algorithm development and pre-operational execution on the provided S5P-PAL infrastructure.
